THE SUCCESS of Wellington Rotary Club’s Father’s Day Sheep Dash in September was demonstrated enthusiastically during the Maranatha House Fete on Saturday, October 24.
Rotary presented a $12,000 cheque to Maranatha’s management committee during the club’s October monthly markets day.
Each month Rotary conducts their markets in Cameron Rotary, but in October the club joins forces with Maranatha to hold the fete within the facility’s grounds attracting many people who love supporting the Maranatha House cause.
Rotary raised the money from auctioning each of the eight sheep that ran in five races, plus selling naming rights of each sheep together with funds raised from stallholder fees, a sweep for each race and other activities.
