Last Chance - March 13 deadline

FIRST AND Second year university students looking for some financial support to help with costs will miss a golden opportunity to gain up to $5000 if they don’t act now.

Wellington Lions Club in association with Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club is offering seven students a slice of $25,000 in grants to “Stop the Brain Drain” supplied by the Soldiers Club.

Club general manager Stephen Hodge said the program commenced in 2024 and it was so widely recognised won the Clubs NSW education category

Community Award.

In the past two years 21 students have benefited.

On offer are five grants of $3000 and two of $5000 which can go towards rental and course expenditure.

Due to state government changes to the original scholarship scheme, applications must be made through Wellington Lions as a third party.

However, this process has made the application form more detailed, so students only need to contact the Soldiers Club or Lions to seek assistance with the form.

But time is running out. The closing date has been extended to Friday, March 13.

Contact Wellington Lions Club or Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club for application form details which are also on their respective websites.
