BAKING is a fun thing for many young girls, especially if they are in the kitchen with their grandmother.
It’s one fun thing for seven-year-old Audrey Burfitt, who decided her home-baked cup cakes could lend themselves to a fundraiser for the Country Women’s Association.
Audrey organised a stall outside her mum’s Jespresso Café and with other contributions from keen supporters, raised $643.85 when selling out of everything in less than one hour after opening.
The money has been sent to the CWA who has asked Audrey where she would like it to go toward in the community. She was still deciding as the Wellington & District Leader went to press.
