WELLINGTON FIRIES demonstrated their fire-fighting skills during the NSW Fire Brigade’s annual open day at the local brigade’s training centre on Falls Road last Saturday.
Jo Ivey was there with her camera and caught some graphic shots as firefighters put out flaming gas tanks and with Wellington State Emergency Services personnel, demonstrated local emergency service skills.
The local fire brigade is calling on locals to volunteer some of their time towards keeping their town safe.
The volunteer program pays retained officers for on-call duty.
Call into the station on Warne Street or contact the local captain Mark Moroney or any of the crew for further information.
