WELLINGTON REGION’S popular Catholic parish priest, Father Carl McKander was farewelled to his retirement in grand style by some 90 parishioners and friends at the Infant de Prague Hall on Saturday, January 3.
The evening became a truly successful social event enjoyed by all and catered for by Wok Sheridan and Kellie from the Cow & Calf Hotel, while special entertainment was provided by Wellington’s own Stray Notes singers.
Two presentations were on the agenda as not only Fr Carl retiring, but also the parish secretary, Enid Simpson.
Fr Carl made special thanks to everyone he has met while serving the parish in Wellington and would take many wonderful memories with him to Mudgee where he will retire to.
